Zeus

21 Mar

Spring is finally here, although you wouldn’t know it by the dreary day we had. To celebrate I decided on a pastel..with a twist. I bought Sinful Color’s Zeus a while ago and haven’t had the chance to try it. It’s a pretty, dusty purple with pink shimmer. I did two coats of Gelous and then two coats of Zeus.  I thought I’d give my dotting tools another go, this time with OPI’s Yoga-Get-This-Blue.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

17 Mar

I was getting bored with my other St. Patty’s Day mani so I decided to change it up. I started with two coats of Sinful Color’s Base coat and then taped off my nail tips and used Ulta’s The Jungle Book.  Instead of stamping I decided to get in some practice with my dotting tools. I used Sally Hansen’s Spring Green.

Dressed up Black

28 Feb

I started reorganizing my stash and found this holographic-ish glitter polish in one of my bins. Around Christmas I had bought a motorized nail buffer which came with a dryer, a few other tools and around 8 different polishes. Being a brand I never heard of  and being lumped in with the other nail tools I kind of just wrote the polishes off. But this polish will definitely be used again! I don’t think it even has a name. The glitter is suspended in clear polish so I decided to layer it over Sinful Color’s Black on black. I’m thrilled with the outcome. It looks great in the sunlight!!

I’m not sure I captured all the colors of this. In different lights new colors show up.

I had all my polishes in tackle boxes, but they were all stacked on top of each other. It started to get annoying to get to the bottom bin. I’m in the middle of moving them to one of the drawers in our spare bedroom’s dresser.

I also just purchased a set of Red Angel image plates and a set of dotting tools, I can’t wait to get them. I’ll be tracking them every step of the way…because I’m inpatient like that.

Spoiled….by Wet n’ Wild

18 Feb

I’ve been getting so many new polishes, its hard to keep up! For today’s manicure I decided to go with Spoiled by Wet n’ Wild The Parking Meteor Expired…bit of a long-winded name. lol. It’s a black based polish with blue, green and purple shimmer built-in.

I love this color! I did about 2 coats, but it could be a one-coater. Instead of a stamped mani I decided to do a coat of Spoiled’s Jewelry Heist over it.

I added another polish to my collection on Friday, Sinful Color’s Nail Junkie…perfect name!

It’s a blue sparkle jelly polish with green, gold, blue sparkles. Here it is in the bottle, can’t wait to try it out!

Circles

I decided to do a konad stamp over Brucci’s Gianna’s Rockin Blue.  I choose Kleancolor’s Metallic Blue for the stamp color and the stamp m65.

Nail Polish Delivery

11 Feb

I came home yesterday to a package on my stoop….it was the 18 Kleancolor polishes I ordered last week. Yay.

They were all individually wrapped..which was a lot of fun to open each one! They ended up sending two wrong polishes, but thats okay, I decided to keep them anyway. After they were all unwrapped I took a blank nail wheel and filled it up.

I had a bit of a mani fail this morning. Maybe I should have slept an hour later lol.  At first I started off with two coats of Kleancolor’s Pastel Pink such a pretty color, Sinful Color’s Beautful Girl looks peach next to it, it was a lot thicker then I thought it would be and was taking forever to dry.

I nicked it a few times so I decided to take it off. I figured since it was thick it would be perfect for stamping. So I tried another new color from my order for my base, Kleancolor’s Metallic Fuchsia. Wow! What a color! And the formula is great! I only needed one coat, but I can’t help myself and I ended up doing two.

(my camera had a hard time capturing the color and my skin tone correctly, I tried my best to color correct it in photoshop)

Then I used Konad’s plate M69. The Pastel Pink worked great for stamping! Then I put Essie’s To Dry For on top….oops….there goes my pastel pink stamp…it turned into purple, so now it looks like a faint texture…boo.

Booo. Can barely even see it! Oh well, It’s not like it’ll stay on long anyway. lol.  To make things even worse, I dropped my Sally Hansen Green Tea Cuticle oil and it broke…double boo.

Wishing For Summer

6 Feb

I’m quite excited about the manicure I did tonight. It was one of the more time consuming ones, but I still love it! I started with two coats of Sinful Colors Beautiful Girl, such a pretty cream light pink.

(Unfortunately, I had to use my point and shoot for this picture and it had some issues with color.)

Then I used a makeup sponge to achieve the gradient look using Sally Hansen’s Rose Rush for the middle, then using the sponge again I used Milani’s Cherry Pie for the tip.

I sealed that off with a coat of Essie’s To Dry For. I love this look on its own, but since I had a Konadless mani yesterday I couldn’t help it. I used Konad’s Special White polish and plate m63.

I finished it off with 2 coats of To Dry For…okay maybe it was three, I can’t help it! Another fun Valentine’s Day look.
