I was getting bored with my other St. Patty’s Day mani so I decided to change it up. I started with two coats of Sinful Color’s Base coat and then taped off my nail tips and used Ulta’s The Jungle Book. Instead of stamping I decided to get in some practice with my dotting tools. I used Sally Hansen’s Spring Green.
Feeling a bit festive, I picked up my Spring Green from Sally Hansen and Ulta’s The Jungle Book. It needed a little extra something so I stamped my ring finger with Konad’s Special White polish and Bundle Monster’s four-leaf clover.
I’ve been doing a lot of crazy colors lately so I decided to go in the opposite direction. I used Ulta Smoke Screen for the base. Then for the stamp I used BM12 and Sally Hansen’s Wet Cement.
I took a trip to Ulta this morning for my refill of Essie’s To Dry For. Since I’ve been buying new polish like crazy (picked up Revlon’s Popular yesterday) I knew I couldn’t get another new polish at Ulta so instead I picked up 2 Sally Hansen’s Clear polish for DIY Nail color so I could use my coupon. I decided to use two of my Bare Mineral’s eyeshadows that I kinda forgot about. Cherry Coco Truffle is a brown with tiny pink sparkles in it and Berry Flambe is a purple with gold, blue and purple sparkles.
I like to use old scrapbook paper to make a funnel, its thick and easy to use since it is already a square.
I like the Bare Mineral’s because it’s powdery and if you use regular eyeshadow it needs to be ground up. I used the opposite end of a thin paint brush when I used an Almay shadow.
I’m pretty excited about these colors, I haven’t done a mani yet with them, I’ll probably do them tonight, but here is the final result! What would a nail polish be without a silly name, so here is Purple Moonlight
And here is Chocolate Strawberry.
I’ve been listening to Lana Del Ray’s album Born to Die none stop lately, and it inspired me to do a vintage-y nail design. I found a flowery design on Konad’s plate M 64. But I wanted to update it a little, so I decided to do a bright blue. I bought China Glaze Flyin’ High a few weeks ago and figured I’d give it a go.
I started off with two coats of Flyin’ High, it has a little more teal in it then I thought from looking at the bottle, but its still a beautiful color. I used Sally Hansen’s Blue It for the stamping.
I finished it off with two coats of Essies To Dry For.
I apologize for not posting a new mani last night, but my husband and I had an awesome night out. A local Italian restaurant had a handmade ravioli and wine paring demonstration, it was sooo much fun. Anyway for tonight’s manicure I decided to finally use Wet N’ Wild’s Greys Anatomy. I tried it on one nail when I first bought it but never used it completely. Its a purpley silver with green tones, beautiful in the bottle but so sheer on its own so I put 3 coats over Sinful Color’s Black on Black. Then I used Konad’s plate m69 and Sally Hansen’s Celeb City for the stamping. It was the first time I used it for stamping and I’m very happy with the results! I finished it off with my usual two coats of Essie’s To Dry For.
