I’ve been super busy and haven’t had a chance to do any blogging. I decided to make this nail polish obsession a little more official and get my nail technician license for a little fun on the side. So Monday – Wednesday I’ve been in school…between that and work I haven’t turned my laptop on in a few months. I’ve also decided to move my blog over to my regular domain name…which is daniellehoschler.com. I hope you’ll all continue to follow me there!! I plan on updating more and adding a few techniques that I’ve learned.
I think this is by far one of my favorite blues! As a birthday gift to my mom we went and got our nails done. I picked out this color…and of course the next day I was in line at Ulta buying a bottle. It has a little bit of teal and blue shimmer, a purple hue in some lights, I love it!!
I’ve been searching for the brightness neon pink and can find since last summer and I think I’ve found it. The Color Club’s Warhol. I did about 2-3 coats and then decided to use a Red Angel stamp with OPI’s Yoga-get this blue.
Spring is finally here, although you wouldn’t know it by the dreary day we had. To celebrate I decided on a pastel..with a twist. I bought Sinful Color’s Zeus a while ago and haven’t had the chance to try it. It’s a pretty, dusty purple with pink shimmer. I did two coats of Gelous and then two coats of Zeus. I thought I’d give my dotting tools another go, this time with OPI’s Yoga-Get-This-Blue.
In my last post I forgot to talk about this tool. I’ve had several blocks like this in the past. Emery board, buffer, a side to smooth the nail and another to even it out. But this one is by far my favorite. The buffer is great, and the side that smooths my nail is amazing, it makes it look like I have a base coat on.
On one of my trips to Ulta I picked up Orly’s Rococo-a-go-go. It’s mostly a purple micro glitter polish, but with gold and pink shimmer. I started with two coats of Gelous…which is where my first product rave comes in. I heard good and bad about this base coat, but I figured I’d try it anyway. Its great, I had no problems with drying time like a lot of reviews said. I was a bit worried because some people were saying it took 10 minutes to dry, but it dried within a few minutes, if that.
Now, on to Orly’s Rocco-a-go-go. I only needed two coats, I could have used one, but I can’t help myself. I definitely think this is my new favorite! Orly’s formula is great! More of their colors will definitely be joining my collection! Now, bare with me, I took a lot of photos and this polish has so many colors in it.
I used two types of lighting, florescent lights and a CFL light. The ones with the color a bit more maroon and gold is the CFL and the purple and pink pictures are with the florescent lights. Love it!
On a trip to Sally’s yesterday I picked up two lotions. Proclaim Olive oil lotion and Original’s Cleansing Sugar Glow. Both really great. Proclaim’s lotion really soaks in and leaves my hands soft for the whole day! Original’s Cleansing Sugar Glow exfoliates great and leaves my hands and arms smooth.
I was getting bored with my other St. Patty’s Day mani so I decided to change it up. I started with two coats of Sinful Color’s Base coat and then taped off my nail tips and used Ulta’s The Jungle Book. Instead of stamping I decided to get in some practice with my dotting tools. I used Sally Hansen’s Spring Green.
